Thurmond ‘Duncan’ White (1945-2022)

Thurmond ‘Duncan’ White, age 77, of Forrest City, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City. His death came suddenly and unexpectedly.

Mr. White was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Lehi, and was the son of Raymond White and Myrle Dean Weeks White. He lived in St. Francis County most all of his life, was a past employee for Pepsi Cola and retired as owner-operator of White Trucking. He was a veteran of the Army, a member of the N.R.A., the American Legion, and was a member of the Midway Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, enjoyed rummage sales, and was a devoted family man.

Mr. White married Carolyn Irene Moody in 1965, and she survives him along with two daughters, Charlotte Silski and husband, Larry, of Wynne, and Anita Smith and husband, James, of Vanndale; two brothers, Claudie White and wife, Diane, of Harrison, and Lenon White of Palestine; five grandchildren, Kimberly Dailey and husband, Nathan, Shauna Silski and Dustin Jones, Darrien Smith, Kristin Smith and Kara Silski; and five greatgrandchildren, Emmalynn Dailey, Ella Dailey, Jennifer Dailey, Blair Jones and Ava Jones.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ray White, Peanut Venon White, Harold White, David White and Danny White, and one sister, Doris Johnson.

Visitation for Mr. White will be this evening, Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, fro 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home.

Services for Mr. White will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery, with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
