Watson named new building inspector for FC

Quentin Watson has been named the new Forrest City Community Risk Reduction Building Inspector.

According to a press release from the city, Watson was serving as a firefighter with the Forrest City Fire Department before the appointment and has seven years of experience in fire service.

He is also classified as an Inspector 1 through the Arkansas Fire Academy and has four years of law enforcement experience.

"We are happy to be able to promote good, hardworking people throughout the city," said Forrest City Mayor Cedric Williams.

Watson said he has also had some training under the previous code enforcement officer Chris Ray.

"I did a few ride alongs over several days to see if it was something I would be interested in doing," said Watson, who added he is excited to see the city to continue to make improvements. "I want to keep making the city better and keep moving forward.”

Watson said he is settling into his new position well and his current goal is to keep moving forward with properties listed for the condemnation process.

"We are moving forward on those lists," said Watson.
