Lady Razorbacks get win over No. 12 LSU

Underneath a barrage of 3pointers, the unranked Arkansas Razorbacks women’s basketball team buried the nationally No. 12 LSU Tigers, 90-76 in Thursday night’s SEC game at Walton Arena.

Guards Amber Ramirez, 25 points including 5 of 8 treys, and Samara Spencer, 20 points including 3 of 5 treys, and Makayla Daniels, 20 points including 3 of 6 treys, led a shocking 13 of 25 Arkansas 3pointers stunning the Tigers of former Baylor national champion coach Kim Mulkey.

“We’ve been building towards this,” Arkansas Coach Mike Neighbors said Thursday on postgame radio “We played really good against (No. 1) South Carolina and really good against ( nationally No.4 Tennessee, upset Thursday by SEC last-placer Auburn). It just wasn’t enough. Tonight we were good enough long enough. We saw (in NCAA projections) LSU come out as a

No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. I certainly think that’s who they are. We were just better tonight. We may not be better every night but tonight our preparation was really good.”

Neighbors’ Razorbacks now 14-6 overall/ 4-3, next rematch at 6 p.m. Monday on the SEC Network in Knoxville, Tenn. against the Tennessee Lady Vols who defeated Arkansas, 70-63 on Jan. 2 at Walton Arena.
