Humane Society thanks T-H, encourages people to volunteer

Editor,

On behalf of Forrest City Area Humane Society I would like to give a special thanks to the Times-Herald for the wonderful article and pictures you published for our Betty White Memorial day of donations.

The public has been generous to us in honor of the tireless work that Betty did on behalf of animal rescue. We received more than $1,000 and many donations of supplies for the dogs. This one-day effort shows that our supporters in Forrest City and many other places really care about the animals and the work we do for them.

We have had several new volunteers come to the shelter to help us socialize the dogs and care for their medical needs. We really need people to spend time with the dogs and help to get them ready for adoption. We are always at the shelter everyday between 3 and 5. Everyone is welcome to spend time with the dogs and us at the shelter or other events.

Your coverage of this event is much appreciated.

Ruth Ann Vowan, president Forrest City Area Humane Society
