Jacqueline Jane Johnson Beane

(1926-2022)

Jacqueline Jane Johnson Beane, age 95, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at her home in Forrest City.

The wife of Dr. John Colmore Beane Jr., Mrs. Beane was born June 1, 1926, in Paragould. She was the daughter of Ellis Anderson Johnson and Essie Mildred Little Johnson.

A lifelong Arkansas resident and enthusiast, Mrs. Beane attended Arkansas State University, but developed a love for the Razorbacks when her husband became a letterman football player for the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Dr. Beane preceded Mrs. Beane in death in 2001.

Mrs. Beane was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City where she was actively involved with her special Sunday school class and the women’s group. She was a 52-year member of Chapter BF of PEO. She was also a member of Musical Coterie, the Auxiliary to the Arkansas Optometric Association, Junior Auxiliary, sewing club and various bridge clubs.

Mrs. Beane is survived by a daughter, Judge Ann Beane Hudson of Forrest City; a son, John Colmore Beane III and wife, Cynthia, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and a sister, Dorothy Johnson Knowles of Magnolia. She is survived by five grandchildren, William Palma Rainey II, Sarah

Katherine Hudson, Mary Jacqueline Atkinson and husband, Garrett, John Colmore “Brian” Beane IV and wife, Rebecca, and Jennifer Marie Beane. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, William Garrett Rainey, Samara Atkinson, Mitchell Atkinson, Madison Beane and John Colmore Beane V, along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2022, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Forrest City.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Forrest City, or to the Sisterhood of PEO, Chapter BF.
