CHURCH APPRECIATION: The Williams Temple C. O. G. J. C. is holding a Church Mother Appreciation for Evangelist Ernestine Weaver on Sunday, Aug. 15 at 2:30 p.m. at the Forrest City CivicCenter.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION: The EndTime Harvest Church will distribute food items on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 beginning at 10:30 a.m. ID is required. For more information contact Karen Mason at 870-821-2659.

FAMILY FUN DAY: A family fun day is planned for Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Turner Circle Public Housing Complex in Forrest City. The event will feature bounce houses, water slides, face painting, games and contests. All children must be accompanied by adults, and masks will be required. Transportation will be provided for residents of Dawson Homes and Grobmyer Circle.

BOARD MEETING: The St. Francis County Indigent Care Board is scheduled to meet at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Forrest City Medical Center.

EXERCISE CLASS: The Forrest City Medical Center Auxiliary has begun holding its PACE Exercise Classes again at Café 1601 (the cafeteria) at Forrest City Medical Center. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 to 10 a.m. The free classes include range of motion, gentle strengthening, balance, weightbearing and breathing exercises, all performed in standing or seated positions to suit individual needs. Masks will be required for all participants.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS: Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held each Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, located at 400 Hill Street in Forrest City.

RECOVERY SUPPORT: Celebrate Recovery meets at 7 p.m., each Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene at 132 McCutchen St., in Forrest City. Anyone having problems with addictions, habits or hangups is welcome to join. For more information, contact pastor Lynn Hickman at 501-831-6353.

LIBRARY: The Forrest City Public Library is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Masks are required. No one under 16 will be admitted at this time. Half of the computers will be available for one hour per person per day. Visitors may browse the stacks to look for books or movies, but are required to remain six feet apart.

LITERACY PROJECT: The Eastern Arkansas Literacy Project is offering basic instruction to adults 18 years and older for reading, writing, basic math, computers, financial literacy and English as a second language. FREE WOMEN’S CLOTHING: Spring Creek Community Baptist Church is giving away free women’s clothing. For more information, call at 870-494-6962.

QUILTERS: The Caring Touch Quilters meet each second and fourth Tuesday in September through May at the First Baptist Church gym at 10 a.m. The group also teaches quilting. For more information, call 633-5837.

FREE MULCH: Free mulch is available on the first Saturday of each month at the Forrest City landfill from 8 a.m. until noon.

TABITHA’S CLOSET: Tabitha’s Clothes Closet at Oak Hill Church of God in Forrest City will be open the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information, call 870-633-7331.

WOMEN’S CLOTHES: The clothes closet, sponsored by Women in Transition to Glory Services Inc., is open on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m., at 407 Cleveland Street in Forrest City. FORREST HILLS WATCH: The Forrest Hills neighborhood wants to organize a Neighborhood Watch program in partnership with the Forrest City Police Department. Those who are interested are asked to call Pastor Moses Green at 870-5141304 or 630-9055.
